FAMILY AND PARTNER VISAS
Onshore applicants
These are the current Partner Visas subclasses:
- Subclass 820 (temporal).
- Subclass 801 (permanent).

Prospective Marriage visa (Subclass 300)
This visa lets you come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse and then apply for a Partner visa.

- Have met face to face with prospective spuse
- Be sponsored
- Intend to marry your prospective spouse before the visa period ends
This permanent visa lets a single older person, who relies on a relative living in Australia for financial support, move to Australia permanently.
Basic Eligibility (SPONSOR)
- You must have provided financial support to your relative for at least 3 years.

This permanent visa lets you stay in Australia to care for someone with a long-term medical condition who has no reasonable access to care options in Australia.

- Be a carer for your relative or a member of their family who has no reasonable access to care in Australia
- Be sponsored by your relative or their spouse or de facto partner for your first 2 years in Australia
This visa lets a child outside Australia move to Australia to live with their parents.
Basic Eligibility
- Be a dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa
- Be under 18 years, a full-time student aged over 18 and under 25 and financially dependent on the parent, or over 18 and unable to work due to a disability
- Be single and dependent on the parent
- Be outside Australia when the application is made and when we make a decision on the application
This visa is permanent and let parents of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen move to Australia.
For a parent to be eligible, he/she must:
- Be outside Australia when we decide on your application
- Have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- Meet all applicable visa conditions and follow Australian law
If parent succeeds in this process, he/she can:
- Move to or stay in Australia as a permanent resident
- Sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia
- Apply for Australian Citizenship if eligible
